Private: Upstate Modern

An exposed concrete wall pierces the architecture of this modernist home, delineating two fašade materials. Our minimalist landscape responds to and grounds the architecture by extending the wall out into the site, delineating corresponding landscape materials. We used the rusted steel sculptures by artist H. Keith Wagner to respond to the industrial nature of the exposed concrete, and the bright ornamental grasses to provide the contrast of nature.

Project developed by David Russo while at HKW Partnership.
